About Potter and Clay Foundation - Liberia

The Potter and Clay Foundation Liberia (PCF-L) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to fostering sustainable development and uplifting the lives of vulnerable populations in Liberia. Inspired by the metaphor of a potter skillfully shaping clay, PCF-L was established by Pastor Elizabeth Clay Kamara and her team to address the pressing social and economic challenges faced by youth, women, and children across the nation.

The Foundation operates on the principles of Compassion, Restoration, and Empowerment, seeking to transform communities through a range of programs that include Health and Wellness outreach, educational support, economic development, Entrepreneurship, and Environmental sustainability. PCF-L’s holistic approach ensures that each initiative is tailored to meet the specific needs of the communities it serves, with a focus on building resilience and promoting long-term well-being.

In Liberia, where a history of civil unrest and economic hardships has left many communities vulnerable, the work of PCF-L is both critical and impactful. Through initiatives like mobile health clinics, educational scholarships, and microfinance programs, the foundation empowers individuals to overcome adversity and achieve self-sufficiency.

The establishment of rehabilitation centers, underscore PCF-L’s commitment to healing and restoration. By engaging directly with local communities and forming strategic partnerships, PCF-L not only addresses immediate needs but also create a society where dignity and opportunity are restored for all.

Our motto is:

“Helping Individuals, Strengthening Families, Enriching Communities.”

Our History

The Potter and Clay Foundation Liberia (PCF-L) was founded by Pastor Elizabeth Clay Kamara, who was deeply moved by the profound challenges she witnessed during her travels across Liberia. Inspired by the biblical metaphor of a potter shaping clay into something valuable and whole, she established the foundation with a mission to restore dignity and foster development among the most vulnerable populations, particularly youth, women, and children.

The foundation’s journey began with Pastor Kamara’s vision to create a platform that would address the social and economic issues plaguing Liberian communities, Over the years, PCF-L has expanded its impact through various programs focusing on Healthcare, Education, Economic empowerment, and Community development and Wellbeing.

A significant milestone in its history was the establishment of rehabilitation centers, which serve as a beacon of hope for youth struggling with substance abuse. Through these initiatives, PCF-L has become a key player in promoting resilience and sustainable development in Liberia, steadily growing in its capacity to effect meaningful change.
